Our Sixth Form students are given the opportunity to develop their personal interests and talents, which we hope they will continue to enjoy and pursue after they leave school. Research has shown such activities outside the classroom enhance results within it. Wider experiences encourage and improve leadership skills, time management, resilience and perseverance; these are all qualities which are highly valued by universities and employers.
Opportunities within and beyond the school day include:
- Leadership - Mentor, Creative arts Ambassador, Sixth Form representative for the School Council, Subject Ambassador, Prefect, House Captain, or Head of School.
- Broadening Horizons - World Challenge and Student Exchange, Round Square, The Duke of Edinburgh Award – Gold Level, The Combined Cadet Force, Academic Societies, Ball Committees (for the two annual Balls), Charity Work, Community Service, Debating, ‘V' for Volunteering, Work Experience Abroad and Young Enterprise and Open University modules.
- Nurturing Creativity - Choirs and other Musical Ensembles, Drama Productions, Musical Performances and Concerts, Theatre Visits, Educational and Cultural Trips.
