The AKS Cabaret is always much anticipated as a highlight of our musical calendar, with the staging format and orientation of the hall enabling a greater degree of immersion and rapport with the audience.
This year’s concert was another knock-out, with a staggering array of talent, including solos, ensembles and choirs, ably supported by our superb staff band - whose contribution added to the spectacle, whilst allowing for our student performers to shine.
The concert was striking, not just in terms of showcasing individual talent, but the sheer volume of it and the variety in the programme. Students from Years 7 to 13 performed jazz classics, contemporary pop, musical theatre and Disney favourites. We were also treated to a South African song, ‘Heartbeat’ by our Prep School Chamber Choir (Years 4 to 6).
The immense amount of work that goes into staging a concert of this quality was richly rewarded by a standing ovation from the audience.
Congratulations to everyone who took part – we’re already looking forward to the Summer concerts!
