We create opportunities for participatory and competitive sport for all pupils to engender a lifelong love of physical activity that will allow them to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.
Our sport teams have had great success over recent years with continued excellence delivered on the hockey pitch for our girls’ teams (Lancashire Champions for the last 4 years) and as part of the AJIS (Association of Junior Independent Schools) sports programme, our teams compete on a regular basis against independent schools from all over the North West,
Our PE lessons are structured and delivered by PE staff across the whole school. Pupils have a wide and varied opportunity to try all kinds of sport, such as basketball, badminton, rugby, hockey, football and netball in the Autumn and Spring Terms, and tennis, athletics, rounders, cricket and swimming in the Summer Term.
We are continually looking to further develop pathways for our pupils and with our development of girls’ football and cricket, and excellence in the development pf boys’ hockey, and we are investing in new and exciting opportunities that we hope will further develop the appeal of sport to our pupils.
Our Enhanced Sports Performance Programme (ESPP), which challenges the most gifted students, provides further ways in which wider aspects of sport can be explored, and to develop individuals of all abilities.
