U13 Hockey progress to next round of the Independent Schools Cup PUBLISHED 03 December 2023 AKS U13 team continued their impressive start to the season as they progressed into the next round of the Independent Schools Cup with an impressive win against local rivals Rossall. Attacking from the first whistle we put Rossall under immediate pressure and won our first corner in only the 3rd minute and when Camilla W converted the corner to take us into the lead the tone for the match was set. We went further ahead minutes later when Olivia W got on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 and two goals in 2 minutes from Camilla W made the score 4-0. Dominating down the right with Isla C’s driving runs constantly beating the Rossall defenders and prolific strikers Olivia W and Camilla always on hand in front of goal we created chance after chance and only gritty Rossall defending kept the score at 4 until half time. In the second Lauren M dominated midfield and started to link well with Isla C on the right and constantly put the Rossall goal under pressure. Great defending from Emily F, Victoria H, Esme M and Isabelle C kept the Rossall forwards at bay and a second hat-trick from Camilla W and another from Olivia W made the final score 8-0. The team now progress into the next round of the cup. AUTHOR: Kay Hanham PUBLISHED: 03 December 2023 CATEGORIES: Sport
