Last Friday marked the final round of the Year 10 Hardspell competition, bringing an energetic close to a week of spelling challenges. After a competitive set of semi-finals, Leighton and Samlesbury earned their places in the last head-to-head.
The final involved five tense rounds, each one pushing the finalists to think quickly and stay composed under pressure. Both groups showed strong teamwork and solid preparation, but Leighton pulled ahead early and kept their momentum. Their accuracy gave them a clear lead, and Samlesbury eventually conceded as Leighton reached a winning margin of 15 points.
It was a fun and memorable event, and every participant should be proud of the effort they put in throughout the week. Well done to all involved.
