AKS welcomes Jack Pounds to both the History and Religious Studies Departments PUBLISHED 10 September 2024 Jack has been teaching for 5 years and has taught not only History and Religious Studies, but other subjects like Philosophy and Geography too. This is something he was keen to do as he believed it would allow him to gain insight into a range of teaching styles and allow him to inspire students across multiple subjects. Jack's desire to inspire and motivate students meant that in his previous school he was appointed as Culture and Resilience Lead for Year 11. This desire stems from Jack’s own education, where he had several inspirational teachers that followed the philosophy of ‘educating the whole person’, which Jack is keen to replicate at AKS. In his spare time Jack enjoys sports but currently his main source of exercise is playing with his young daughter in the garden. He maintains that this is far more physically demanding than any sport he has played previously, although it is much more fun! Jack feels the opportunity to join the AKS community is incredibly exciting and he cannot wait to work alongside the staff and students at AKS Lytham.
