Exploring Futures at Cambridge

A group of Year 11 and Year 12 students visited the University of Cambridge recently to see where their academic ambitions may take them.
The group were fortunate to meet up with alumna Pippa currently finishing her first year at Selwyn College reading English. Pippa was a first-rate tour guide and gave the group an inspiring tour around Selwyn and its neighbouring amenities. After being introduced to a first year medicine student who also gave the group plenty of advice regarding future applications and what to expect as a Cantabrigian, the two girls disappeared into the late afternoon to ready themselves for Pembroke's May Ball. The AKS group concluded their first day's exploration with a gentle evening walk along the Cam, banked by a herd of friendly Red Poll cows.
The Second day saw the group head back towards the River Cam, but this time for the purpose of punting. Our official guide was a font of college knowledge, interspersing our cruise along the backs of King's College and under the Bridge of Sighs with fascinating tales of the ingenuity and mischief-making of former students.
Back on dry land, the students spread themselves across the medieval city and accessed a number of the university's 31 colleges.
An inspirational time was had by all and there is no doubt the students' minds will be filled with the spires and ketton-stoned walls of the world's fourth-oldest surviving university for the foreseeable future.
