Our fabulous AKS Summer Festival was held on Sunday - and was a hit with everyone. Many thanks to our amazing PTA and everyone who made the afternoon such a lovely event, with representation from across our community - with students, parents, staff, alumni, and our charity group AKS Action.
Due to the weather, the event moved inside to our sports halls but there was still a wonderful atmosphere and great array of entertainment including our tea and cake stand, fabulous external stalls ranging from Lego to greetings cards, bouncy castles, face painting, our infamous PTA bar and tuckshop, tombola, a new to you soft toy and book stall, hook a duck, guess the weight of the cake and name of the teddy competitions!
We also had our brilliant AKS Action students Will, Freya, Charlotte, Katie, Isla and Estelle running an egg and spoon course and a quidditch challenge. Harley and Daniel also ran a Penalty shoot-out.
Our Guess the Weight of the cake competition, which was kindly baked by Prep School Receptionist Rosemary, was won by Heather Fisk – who very generously donated it to our cricketers who took part in the Headmaster’s Cricket match. The Headmaster's OAKS alumni team were victorious against the AKS staff, with a commanding score of 133 to 83.
Thank you to The Rookery for the delicious street food and pizzas, and to Ruocco’s ice cream van for joining. Finally, a huge thank you, to our generous parents for cake and tombola donations – and a special mention to long standing PTA members Lisa and Caroline who were presented with flowers for their fabulous contribution and dedication over the years.
Our PTA hope you enjoyed the afternoon and wish you a fantastic Summer break. They look forward to running many more wonderful community events next year!
