Year 7 students set up Farming Club PUBLISHED 20 March 2024 The newly formed Farming Club, set-up by Year 7 students but open to all, were excited to join the National Farmers Union for 'Science Farm Live'. They were privileged to follow farm vet, Clare Whittle, as she showed students how to care for cows' hooves and learned about the types of emergencies she could be called to attend. They also gasped when they found out exactly how a cow is scanned to detect a calf foetus. They also learned about animal lifecycles, reproduction and genetic inheritance. This was all topped off with a live calf birth and footage of a lamb being rescued by a quick thinking farmer.
