After the success of the schools’ girls football team two AKS pupils are now making waves on the individual front being selected to play in the National Independent Schools U14 Football team.

On Saturday 3rd June, Yr 9 students Ellie-Rose S and Hannah A represented the ISFA U14 National squad against the  Welsh Schools FA side at Barry Town FC, in Cardiff and both put in impressive performances.

The ISFA girls side dominated from start to finish and both Ellie and Hannah gave a great account of themselves . An impressive defensive performance from Ellie-Rose and an assist from Hannah for one of the ISFA goals gave both girls a lift as they look to further continue their pathway through the ISFA Girls programme and both played a big part in ISFA beating the Welsh FA side 3-2.

Mr Moretti, Director of Football at AKS and ISFA National Team Manager was delighted with both girls’ performances and making the step up onto the international stage was a positive impact for all concerned.

Mr Moretti said: "I hope this is the catalyst to further inspire the girl’s passion and confidence in their footballing journey and they become role models for others to look up to within AKS."

In August, Ellie-Rose and Eva W (Yr10) will be representing the school at the ISFA National U16 trails being held at Ardingley College, with Mr Moretti part of the coaching team also. We wish the girls the best of luck!
