The U13 girls football squad have progressed through to the ISFA national finals over at St George’s Park, after finishing as runners-up in the North Regional qualifier today.

In a league of 6 teams, AKS progressed through to their final game of the competition having won all their games and not conceding a goal along the way.

Wins against Rossall, Stockport Grammar School, Terra Nova, and Bootham School led to a final game against Cheadle Hulme who had also won all of their matches.

A tense encounter, with both sides playing some excellent football, AKS conceded first having been caught out of their shape. This was answered by the girls with a superb goal of their own from good build-up play outside of the box and then a neat pass finding Charlotte L who tucked the ball away to end the game 1-1.

Both teams finished the tournament unbeaten but AKS ended the day as runners-up, down to having scored less goals than CHS.

Player of the tournament for AKS went to Eli who was superb in defence and attack, breaking up play and confidently bringing the ball out from the back to start another attack for the team.

The National finals are to be played on Thursday 16th June at St George’s Park. Good Luck to our players in these finals!
