Year 8 enjoy a fantastic History trip to Tatton Park PUBLISHED 10 February 2022 History students from Year 8 enjoyed a very interesting day out to Tatton Park. Students Chloe, Ani and Sophie told us about the day: Our day out at Tatton Park was an amazing experience. When we arrived, we were greeted by one of the volunteers. She took us to a barn to talk about what we were there for. We got straight into activities. Through out the morning, with our groups, we made candles out of sheep fat and reed. We also made flour by hand by hitting it with a stick. Another activity we did was learn how they made a ball of wool from a fresh sheep wool; we did this by brushing the sheep's wool with a wool comb. After lunch, we enjoyed two other activities including making wattle and daub and experienced some of the weapons used in Tudor times. This was an incredibly fun experience, and we are all very grateful for this opportunity and for how much we all learnt throughout the day.
