Pre-school progress, one month in!

"The children astound me every year... they seem to grow within a couple of weeks."

As our pre-school children start their new chapter in the education, I have taken the time to reflect all the new experiences we have taken part in already in our first month.

The children in our pre-school attend 3 assemblies a week, integrating them from the start of their new journey into the AKS way of life. As well as attending these assemblies, they also sang 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow' in our Harvest Celebration in front of a packed preparatory school hall.

We have welcomed our parents to a curriculum evening, where we discussed our plans for Literacy and Maths over the next year. All children have enjoyed small group work in these subjects allowing staff to ensure that all children's needs and abilities are adhered too.

Our first parents' evening of the academic year has taken place. This is a time where we discussed the children individually with their parents, as they will do in the further chapters in their education.

The children astound me every year with their ability to transition straight into pre-school life and how they seem to grow within a couple of weeks.

I hope to see both current and new faces at our School Open day on 12th October from 11am.

I'm looking forward to showing you our amazing nursery spaces and how we build foundations for life from a child's earliest days with us.
