Internet Safety Module in PSHE PUBLISHED 27 January 2020 Good practice on line can help you 'escape' from potential dangers It seems to be that in this day and age our children are never far away from a smart phone! Lower school are just coming to the end of their Internet Safety module in PSHE, in time to really be able to understand the messages coming through on this years Internet Safety Day in February. We looked at issues ranging from Cyber bullying and Sexting to On Line Reputation and Grooming. Big concepts to talk about but an excellent opportunity for not just learning, but applying lessons learned and understood to everyday practices. Year 7 and 8 also had a visit from a Theatre Group to reinforce these messages - set in an Escape Room all the clues to get out were based on Internet good practice. Pupils agreed that it was 'very funny but will help us remember'. One Year 8 girl loved that she realised that ' good practice on line can help you 'escape' from potential dangers! ' Learning how to assess and manage risk is an ongoing learning experience for all of us - the opportunity to talk about it with your peers is what pupils at AKS said they have valued most.
