Student volunteers make a difference

Student volunteers make a difference

PUBLISHED 18 September 2020

It was lovely to receive the following letter of thanks from Park View in response to the volunteer work undertaken recently by our students. It is fantastic to hear and see the contribution they are making to our local community. Very well done to them all.

"AKS in the Community,

This is just a quick note to say a huge thank you to your students for their hardwork in helping to maintain QEII Park View Playing Fields in Lytham. Two of your year 10 students Eisa and Euan are currently volunteering for their Duke of Edinburgh bronze award and are working hard every Sunday helping with site maintenance including removing graffiti, litter picking, laying a woodland path, erecting Covid-19 safety signs, raking sand, weeding etc.

Yesterday they were joined by two more students who are not currently doing their D of E awards but offered to help. Rhys in year 8 and Dan in year 9 who also helped us to lay approx 50 metres of woodland path.  I wish to thank them for all their hardwork, especially when it was so hot.  Many members of the public commented on their commitment yesterday and thanked them for making a huge difference to their local community. It is very much appreciated by everyone."
