AKS marked International Men's Day 2024 with an extraordinary event designed to inspire, educate and empower our students. The day was a vibrant blend of activities focusing on improving mental health, fostering teamwork, and introducing innovative ways to relax and reconnect, such as sound baths and collaborative cooking. It was a fantastic day that underscored the importance of self-care, community and personal growth in the lives of young men.
International Men's Day serves as a vital reminder of the mental health challenges that men may face. At AKS Lytham, the day began with discussions centred on reducing the stigma and equipping students with the tools they may need. With our fantastic visitors from Lytham Men's mental health and Lancashire Orange button scheme talked about their experiences and how the Orange Button Scheme can support. Students were encouraged to reflect on their personal well-being and consider the importance of balance in their lives, creating a safe space to explore strategies for coping with life's pressures.
One of the standout moments of the day was the cooking session from My Kinder Food, where students had the opportunity to watch a live demonstration on preparing chilli, finishing with a taste of the goods!
AKS Lytham's International Men's Day celebration was a resounding success, offering student's well-rounded program that combined mental health awareness, physical activity, and creative expression. The event highlighted the school's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals and left students inspired to prioritize their mental health and foster stronger connections with those around them. It was truly a day to remember, marking a significant step in empowering young men to lead healthier, happier lives.
