We had an exciting school day yesterday with Rolls-Royce UK visiting to film our S.T.E.M competition work.
Our school has made the final and are competing against 5 other UK educational settings for a host of environmental awards. We had a bustling schedule yesterday but huge thanks to all staff and students involved, we kept to time and managed to showcase many aspects of our ambitious project; Constructing The Future.
We have been on a whole school mission to recycle more materials and our biggest success has been to transform sawdust into our very own AKS made manufactured board.
Alongside we are making improvements to our community garden space and have already planted Bamboo and Willow to support more project work for years to come.
Many thanks to our Preparatory families from Nursery through to Y6 who entered our plastic recycling challenge, to make something decorative to enhance our developing community space (individual awards and prizes to follow in May).
Our Rolls-Royce student volunteers have attended on a weekly basis and have completed a variety of extra-curricular activities including marketing, costing, design developments, testing, manufacturing in different ways, meeting customer needs, advertising, charity endeavour to name but a few areas.
Finally a big thanks to Rolls-Royce Hamish and Nicky who visited yesterday to film our staff and students, we were delighted you could afford our community extra learning opportunities and chance to come together in a unique way.
