U15 Hockey record back to back wins against Stonyhurst and Wilmslow High

The AKS U15 hockey side enjoyed back to back wins against Stonyhurst and Wilmslow High with every member of the 20 strong squad playing.

The match against Stonyhurst saw us totally dominate from the first whistle and Grace P scored one of her 4 goals in only the 4th minute of the game. Lucy W set up a second for Grace minutes later and further goals from Charlotte L, Lucy W and Amelia H saw us go into the break 5 – 0 ahead. After the break two goals from well worked corners by Poppy M and Hannah A along with further goals from Grace and Poppy completed a well deserved and comprehensive win. Players of the match were Hannah A for her hardworking performance and Grace P for her 4 goals.

The second game of the week against Wlmslow High was a much closer affair but again saw us come out on top. We started the game well attacking with pace down the right and were rewarded for our positive start when Lucy W forced the ball over the line in the 5th minute. Wilmslow had some skilful players and they got on level terms from a corner before half time. We continued to defend well with Sophia M and Esther T working tirelessly in defence and we went ahead again with a great strike from a well worked corner by Rosie L. Wilmslow continued to pose a threat and some great saves by Niamh M along with solid defending kept our noses infront and the win was sealed in the last minute with a great driving run and strike from Sophia M which found the net to make it 3 – 1. Players of the match were Charlotte L, Lilly G, Sophia M & Esther T.
