Year 6 Showcase Assembly

Year 6 Showcase Assembly

Year 6 Showcase Assembly

PUBLISHED 23 January 2023

Last Friday, Year 6 welcomed their parents and families to their Showcase assembly, where they shared samples of their work and discussed the topics that they have covered over the course of this academic year.

This encourages the children to share their pride in their work as well as building their oral literacy. The opportunity to share their views and opinions forms an important precursor to the Inquiry Research Project and associated Evening of Inquiry that they will participate in next year in Senior School.

It was lovely to see the pupils’ enthusiasm and confidence in discussing their work individually with parents. This spanned all areas of the curriculum, including Thornhill, the mystery novel which gripped the pupils; game design in computing, Anglo Saxon designs, Julian Opie inspired art work; as well as recent topics in maths.

In addition to the one-to-one discussions, Sadie, Sophia, Freddie, Jackson, Joe and Rupert gave informative and entertaining COP 27 presentations. Well done to Rupert for introducing the assembly and to Esme for closing it with a solo from the musical, Fame.

Congratulations to everyone for sharing your achievements and passions!
