Tycoon Group Cart Coins donates to North West Air Ambulance

Year 12 student Victoria was literally the sole trader as she formed and ran a business on her own as part of the Tycoon Enterprise competition. This is a unique achievement, certainly at AKS and I should imagine not many, if any, have competed in the international competition on their own.

Having impressed the fierce AKS Dragon’s Den (aka the Ladies Luncheon Club Committee) with her product pitch, a 3-D printed cart coin for shopping trolleys.  Victoria soon learned the art of selling to members of the public and another notable mention must go to her use of social media and e-bay to boost sales. This led to her achieving a total profit of over £600 with a return on investment of her initial loan being 1118% - a fantastic achievement and a stat that gives her second place in the competition. 30% of her profits have been donated to the Peter Jones Foundation and the remainder goes to Victoria’s chosen charity North West Air Ambulance. We were delighted to have the visit of Hilary Wills, mother of OAKS alumni Naomi and Tom Forster, to accept the cheque of over £400 on behalf of the charity.

I am the proud owner of her idea as part of my car keys and it works brilliantly as I never seem to have a spare pound coin, or if I do my son ‘borrows’ them. Ever the businesswoman Victoria handed over the last of her stock which can be found in the NWWA shops in Lytham, donations will be gratefully received.
