"NON SCHOLAE SED VITAE DISCIMUS"

Euge! Latin lessons have been introduced to Years 5 and 6  to enhance their rich and diverse curriculum and to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of language over time. As 90% of language in academic texts has its origins in Latin or Greek, teaching etymology provides a vital skill in understanding higher level vocabulary. Children receive weekly lessons, and many enjoy a lunchtime club too. Latin education enables children to understand more complex vocabulary and gives them more opportunities to become curious and inquisitive learners. Latin sessions are carefully designed to engage pupils and are delivered through storytelling, games, songs, and role-playing which makes the learning experience fun and meaningful. Minimus the mouse enriches our sessions with his interactive stories, colourful illustrations and fun activities, making Latin accessible and enjoyable for all pupils.
