Senior School Teatime Concert 7th February

PUBLISHED 08 February 2024

With over twenty performers, our informal Teatime concert has never been more popular, with family and friends filling up the recital room to support the students. Year 13 students, Esmee and Tom, opened the programme with their duet of Adele's Turning Tables, supported as on previous occasions, with their friends who came en masse to enjoy their performance.

Director of Performing Arts, Michael Hodgkinson, was joined by Alex W (who will be known to many as 'Audrey' from The Little Shop of Horrors last month) as co-host. Alex brought her characteristic charm to proceedings, giving support and putting the performers (ranging from Years 7 to 10) at ease.

The audience were subsequently treated to a range of styles, such as classical, jazz, blues and pop performed on voice, flute, saxophone, clarinet and piano, with particular highlights including duets by brother-and-sister duo, Oliver (Year 10) and Kathryn (Year 8); and Elle and Hattie (Year 7)'s rendition of another Adele hit, 'Set Fire to the Rain'.

Congratulations to everyone who took part, it's fantastic to see such enthusiasm for music and performing. We're already looking forward to the next events in the musical calendar, see below for details.
