The U12s showed a stirling effort to come back from 2-1 down at half time. A slow start to the game in defence allowed Westholme numerous strong attacks on goal, however goalie Oliver, pulled out some outstanding saves. In the second half the spirit was strong, and the boys were determined to give it everything they had. Strong attacking play yielded many opportunities on goal, and AKS were able to get a claw back in to the game, with overwhelming forward pressure. A ‘worldie’ from Max on the put AKS in front and the team knew that they needed to stay strong and hold their lead.  With this, they continued to attack and pressure, adding more to the tally to show excellent structure and game plan, all in all a great team effort.

AKS attached well down the wings through Harry and Franky, who combined fantastically with Blake, Ruben and John, who worked tirelessly up front.

AKS U15 looked to bounce back from a heavy defeat last week at Altrincham. In the early exchange Westholme caught AKS napping to pull ahead 1-0. However rousing words from captain Jacob, soon got the boys working hard, none more so than Kayne who worked tirelessly in defence to keep the attack at bay. AKS had opportunities with the wind, but it was Westholme that were able to strike again to extent their lead. AKS were not for giving up, showing great tenacity and determination, they continued to push forward, this game Jacob the opportunity to sink a shot from outside the box and give AKS hope. With the wind in their sails, AKS struck again with a great individual finish by Theo, beating a number of players with his pace to dab it past the keeper. In the second half and into the wind, AKS continued to attack with purpose and create opportunities. However, Westholme, with the wind behind them were able to challenge the AKS goal. These shots were saved and deflected by Micheal, who made some top class saves, aided by Joe and Harry in defence.  Unfortunately, this was not enough to play out a draw, as Westholme score a fine goal late in the second half. This was a great game of football and AKS look forward to the return leg against Westholme after half term.
