I would like to welcome you to AKS, an outstanding institution for both academic achievement and co-curricular opportunity.
It provides the kind of education I want for my own children, all of whom have attended. I believe that any parent reading this will understand that, whilst high academic achievement is vital to support future career progression, it is character, in all its many forms, that we hope to see develop in those we love. AKS is a place where opportunities for personal growth abound, in a wonderful building with an amazing beach-front location and superb facilities.
I hope that any new visitor to our school will get the same feeling: a great working atmosphere both in and out of the classroom, and above all a positive, 'can do' mentality. Our students are polite and presentable, and carry themselves with confidence and dignity. We know that each one brings their own identity, interests and passions to our close, family community. We also know that with time, motivation, support and opportunity, all our young people can achieve beyond traditional expectations.
Staff clearly put the interests of the students at the forefront of everything they do. We are never complacent; we always seek to push the boundaries of aspiration and ambition, taking measured risks, whilst always considering how our actions affect others. Einstein is quoted as saying 'be not a person of success, but a person of value'. We consider leadership, compassion and social responsibility to be an integral part of the educational process.
This website certainly gives a flavour of student achievement. I look forward to showing any visitor around, in the anticipation that they will sense the deeper character that makes AKS such a special place - and a pleasure to be in.
