Year 5 visit “SUN”, a three-dimensional installation in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens

Our budding scientists were able to see several months of the sun’s life displayed over the course of 13 minutes in this spectacular local 'Lightpool' exhibition.

Just before hald term, our Year 5 classes visited the giant sun currently on display at Blackpool Winter Gardens. It was totally awesome - a 7m sphere with ever changing images of the sun's surface projected onto it. 

They were then treated to a Solar workshop with scientists from UCLAN and Cambridge University, this was followed by a creative workshop making books to present their facts in.

The sun is part of the Lightpool Festival and is on show every evening 6.00pm-10.00pm until the 26th October. Year 5 would thoroughly recommend a visit!
