Two teams of Year 10 Mathematics students travelled to Rossall School on Wednesday, 18th March, to take part in the annual Maths Feast competition.
The event consisted of four challenging rounds designed to test the problem‑solving skills of 14 and 15 year old students. Our pupils have been preparing throughout the year in a weekly Maths Club, where they have explored a wide range of topics - even tackling some A-Level Further Mathematics concepts along the way.
During the competition, teams were required to work individually, in pairs and collaboratively as a group to solve demanding questions across algebra, geometry and broader mathematical problem‑solving.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, describing it as “a good chance to test ourselves outside the realms of normal mathematics.” Their hard work paid off, with one of our teams securing 1st place in the competition.
Congratulations to our winning team: Leo G, Matheson S, Arish K and William M‑R.A huge well done also to Emily F, Nicole A, Muhammad H and Isabelle C for their enthusiasm and excellent participation.
