On Wednesday, preschool children and their parents were once again warmly welcomed into the Reception classrooms for another engaging transition workshop, this time centred on the joy of sharing stories. These sessions continue to provide a valuable opportunity for families to become familiar with the school environment while supporting children as they prepare for the move into Reception.
The workshop began with a lively and interactive story read by Mrs Barker. Accompanying the story was a carefully prepared story sack, filled with props and objects linked to the narrative. This allowed the children to explore the story in a hands-on way, deepening their understanding and sparking their imagination.
Following the storytelling session, children and parents took part in a range of creative, story-themed craft activities. Working together, families enjoyed making their own creations inspired by the story, encouraging collaboration, conversation and creativity. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and engagement from both children and adults as they shared ideas and brought elements of the story to life.
Overall, the session was a great success, providing a relaxed and enjoyable environment for children and their families to connect with the school, build confidence, and develop a love of stories and learning.
