Upper Sixth Biologists work with Diabetes Specialist, Dr Anthony PUBLISHED 26 February 2021 By Mr M S Downey, Head of Science, AKS Lytham Today Upper Sixth Biologists presented their work on diabetes to Dr Anthony, a local GP and a diabetes specialist at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. The different groups of students had worked together to research various diabetes topics in the style of PBL exercise, that is a popular method of teaching in some Universities. Dr Anthony listened to the presentations, giving feedback on the standard of science and accuracy of the students work. Dr Anthony then answered a number of interesting questions from the students about the Type II diabetes epidemic and current research and developments in the treatment of this condition. We would like to thank Dr Anthony for his time and interesting insights, that greatly enhanced the students learning experience.
