AKS Summer Festival - biggest and best yet!

PUBLISHED 03 July 2023

Our AKS Summer Festival was held yesterday - and was a hit with everyone, from toddlers to grandparents. Many thanks to our amazing PTA and everyone who made our Summer Festival the biggest and best yet, with representation from across our community - with students, parents, Support Staff, Nursery, Prep School, Senior School and Sixth Form staff running a diverse selection of stalls and activities, including:

  • Our fabulous PTA serving delicious homemade cakes in their appropriately named 'TEApee' tent
  • Members of our Nursery team making pompom bookmarks
  • Our Senior School Librarian, Amanda Culpan selling pre-loved books
  • Prianka (Year 11) leading the Bring Me Sunshine Car Wash in aid of Age UK
  • Year 11 students, Amelia, Anya and Harriet serving hot food in the pavilion
  • The Prep School Eco team selling a selection of home-grown plants
  • A host of external stall holders, selling a range of gifts from jewelry to books
  • Fun games led by our fabulous AKS Action team comprising Year 7 and Year 12 students, supported by Jess Grant, our Round Square Service Representative)

And of course our bouncy castles, donkey rides and face painting for all ages!

Congratulations to our Staff XI, captained by Senior Deputy Head, Allan McKeown, who narrowly won the annual Headmasters Cricket Match. The Headmasters XI was captained by Tim Wyles, who noted just how close the match was - decided by the final over! Many thanks to the OAKS for their support of the event. We look forward to another great instalment in 2024.

We hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did and hope you have a fantastic Summer break and look forward to more community events next year!
