We are delighted to recognise the outstanding achievements of several students who have been excelling in their chosen activities outside of school. From sport and dance to elite training programmes and charitable fundraising; their commitment, perseverance and talent are truly inspiring.
Ralph R (Year 9) - Golf
Ralph has enjoyed a wonderful golfing achievement after winning the prestigious Captain's Junior Prize at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. Competing against a field of 15 junior boys, Ralph secured victory in a closely contested competition, finishing just one point ahead at the top of the leaderboard.
The award was presented by the Club Captain and Lady Captain, and Ralph also rose to the occasion by delivering his first public acceptance speech. Having only taken up golf 18 months ago, this marks Ralph's first competition win and is a testament to the dedication and determination he has shown in developing his game. An excellent achievement and an exciting milestone in his sporting journey.
Maisie C (Year 8) - Ballet
Maisie has continued to excel in her ballet training after successfully passing her assessment and earning a place for another year on The Royal Ballet School's prestigious Mid Associate Programme in Manchester.
Adding to this accomplishment, Maisie was selected as one of only seven current Mid Associates to be featured on The Royal Ballet School's official website, where she shared her experiences of the programme and her development as a dancer. Through her training, Maisie has strengthened her musicality, technique and performance skills, while also developing confidence, resilience and artistry.
Among her highlights this year have been attending workshops at the Royal Ballet in Covent Garden and beginning pointe preparation classes. Maisie's enthusiasm, commitment and passion for dance continue to shine through, and we congratulate her on these fantastic achievements.
Jesse H (Year 1) - Football
Jesse has taken the first exciting step on what promises to be a memorable football journey after being selected for Fleetwood Town's Under-6 Pre-Academy Programme.
Following a successful trial process, Jesse recently attended his first training session and has already demonstrated the enthusiasm and commitment that earned him a place. Joining a professional club's development pathway at such a young age is a fantastic accomplishment and provides a wonderful opportunity for Jesse to continue developing his skills and love of the game.
We look forward to following his progress and celebrating future successes.
Amelia C (Year 10) - Tennis
Amelia enjoyed a memorable summer after being invited to attend elite tennis training at Wimbledon, following her impressive performances in the Lancashire tournament.
The opportunity allowed Amelia to train in one of the most renowned settings in the sport, providing valuable experience as she continues her tennis development. While the competitive season is beginning to draw to a close, Amelia remains focused on training throughout the winter months as she prepares for next season's challenges.
We are delighted to celebrate this exciting opportunity and wish Amelia every success as she continues her tennis journey.
Oliver M (Year 7) - Cricket
Oliver has enjoyed another outstanding year on the cricket field, representing Lytham Cricket Club Under-11 A team. His consistency and skill with the bat earned him the club's Batsman of the Year award for the second consecutive season, a remarkable achievement.
Oliver was also selected through a competitive trial process to represent the Northern Palace Shield in interleague cricket, further recognising his talent and hard work. One of the highlights of his season came when he scored an excellent unbeaten half-century (50 runs) for his interleague side, showcasing both his batting ability and composure at the crease.
This has been a fantastic year of cricketing success for Oliver, and we congratulate him on his achievements.
Rupert W (Year 10) - Fundraising
Rupert recently combined his passion for baking with his commitment to helping others by organising a Macmillan Coffee Morning as part of the Skills section of his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. After spending weeks developing his baking skills, Rupert baked a selection of cakes and set up a fundraising stall, supported by a raffle, a ‘Guess the Weight of the Cake’ competition, and generous cake donations from fellow pupils and parents.
Setting himself an initial fundraising target of £100, Rupert dedicated many hours to preparing for the event and manning the stall on the day. Thanks to his hard work, initiative and determination, he raised an incredible £900.12 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Rupert should be immensely proud for using his growing skills to make such a positive difference and for demonstrating outstanding generosity and community spirit.
We are incredibly proud of Ralph, Maisie, Jesse, Amelia, Oliver and Rupert for their hard work, determination and commitment to their chosen pursuits. Their achievements demonstrate the breadth of talent within our school community and serve as an inspiration to others. We look forward to seeing what they accomplish next.
