U13 Girls:

Rossall won 221/3 AKS 218/2 it was very close up to the last ball - Maisie W player of the match, scored a 4!

Senior boys:

AKS 3/148 def Stonyhurst 2nd XI 7/79

Great for our senior team to be playing fixtures and giving opportunities to our younger players during the exam period.

Experienced players Alex A & Max G showed their class with 20 retired each, whilst debutants Harry J (21 retired), Xavier D (16 not out) & Ted T showed maturity beyond their years. Special mention to Max S who took 3/12 in his first outing for AKS!

U15 Lancashire Cup R3 match:

U15 Lancashire Cup R3 match lost in the 19th over against a strong Clitheroe side. Batting first AKS were kept to 84 by a strong bowling and fielding unit. In return, AKS made Clitheroe work for every run in their chase with Curran, Urqhart, Jackson, Green and Wyles all bowling tightly. Fielding was immense with every dot ball celebrated which accentuated the pressure on the opposition batting side. Disappointed to lose, but hopefully a line in the sand in terms of how to stay in the fight until the end for the lads.

U12B:

U12B Pairs cricket: St Marys Hall 98 def AKS 57

With several players participating in their first cricket match and some their first yard ball match, our focus was to enjoy the match and try to do our basics well. Batting first, we made 58 runs, with standouts being Ted with 14 and Sophia M with 11. When we bowled, sometimes we were a bit wide, which cost us a few runs, but our spirit and enjoyment were always there and there were some bits of brilliance all the way through. Our standout bowler was Henry T, who took 3 wickets and came within a whisker of a hat trick! A great experience for all - well done!

U13 Girls:

U13 Girls: AKS U 13 girls 259/3 against Stonyhurst U14 259/1. Good experience for the girls. Excellent bowling by Kathryn S. Anna.V scored 4 and consistent bowling.  Maisie W confident WK.

U15 Boys:

U15 boys lost by 11 runs to Stonyhurst in a great game of cricket. Stonyhurst batting first posted 140 in their twenty on an excellent batting surface. AKS followed up their fielding performance on Thursday with another display of teamwork and positive energy supporting Curran, McNicholas, Flintoff and Thompson. AKS batted and kept with the rate with captain Kelly, Curran and Flintoff scoring well but we ultimately fell 11 short. Boys were gutted not to win but with 3 of their top players missing, it was a cracking game of cricket and they should be proud of their efforts.

U12A:

U12A AKS U12A v Stonyhurst U13B

AKS batted first and scored 96 for 6 off their 16 overs with Harry M and Ruben A top-scoring. Both lads played some beautiful shots supported by fabulous cameo innings from Will A.

It should be said that Stonyhurst gave their best bowlers all the overs.

In response, Stonyhurst reached their target of 97 from the first ball of the final over which broke the mounting tension following a slightly frantic penultimate over from Harry M. Wonderful contributions came from Monty, Arish, Isa, Will, Owen and Thomas - all gamely getting through their overs.

The boys were gracious in defeat, which they didn't really deserve...especially considering today's circumstances.

We progress, we move on and we look forward to the next encounter!

U13A:

U13A: AKS U13 Boys much improved with their bowling and in the field today. Maanav Man of the match with 2 catches, 1wkt and top scorer on 15 runs not out.
