U13's

A great opportunity for the AKS U13 players to have a competitive hit out to start the season. Players were rotated and rested to give all an opportunity to have fun and show what they can do. In attack, AKS played a fast passing game with lots of hard running and smart positioning. In defense, they worked on being a strong, solid line, with a good sense of when we can gain ground and a ferocious thirst for any disputed ball.

Our team supported each other and enjoyed our match. The squad came away with many positives, whilst also being keen to work hard at training to improve at parts of our game.

Try scorers: F Reynolds 2, O Hoskisson, S Lord & S Littler

Final result was a 5-25 win for AKS

U14's

The U14 won 50+ - 0 good standard set by the boys with some really positive rugby in attack, backed up with a strong defensive performance. AKS have got some things to work-out for Stonyhurst next week and they are looking forward to the challenge.

U15's

Lost 25-5 A truly positive start to the season for the U15’s despite losing this fixture by three tries. The boys attitude and commitment from the first whistle to the last was the most pleasing aspect, alongside the way they moved the ball across the field with confidence. The better of the two sides going into the second half a lack of match fitness and some inexperience in defense led to AKS conceding a couple of late tries, but this should not detract from the overall performance of the.

2nd XV

The seconds lost a thrilling training game 26-24.

The whole team demonstrated excellent commitment and desire and can take many positive from such an enjoyable and useful game. With players back from injury and cup cricket commitments next weekend, the squad look forward to building on this weeks performance.

MOM - F Webster scoring a hat trick of tries.

Mid week AKS senior squad traveled to Bolton School in a training game. The day was very positive with the squad playing 3 periods of 20 minutes and with 13 U16 involved the session finished 26-24 to Bolton.

1st XV

The 1st XV saw 9 players make their 1XV debut against a strong Giggleswick side. AKS started well showing a clinical edge for set piece and creating issues for the Giggleswick defence. In defence AKS worked tirelessly to disrupt the Giggleswick attack, however eventually the pressure of Giggleswick big ball carriers told, as they pulled ahead to make it 0.15 at half time. AKS continued to battle, but struggled to retain possession in the 2nd half. The final score 0.37, despite the score there are lots of positives to take from this performance and the squad look forward to a big week of training in preparation for Stonyhurst next Saturday.

MOM - M Duncan, who's work rate and tensity typified the attitude of the AKS squad.
