Accelerated Reader Programme thriving in lockdown

Accelerated Reader is marvellous computer-based program that ranks books varying on vocabulary, plot complexity and challenge.  At the beginning of the term each child will take place a STAR reader test.  This test is unique as it evolves in difficulty depending on a child’s answers.  It then produces an accurate picture of where the children are at, then gives them a range of books which will challenge them (but not so hard to demotivate).

This highly accurate result gives children the perfect range of books, to challenge and interest.  We have had many success stories where children are pouring through books*. They are overjoyed that their word count is increasing, but at the heart of it the children thrive and have an immense sense of pride with their development.
