On Friday morning Year 6 pupil Johnnie completed his personal challenge to run 50 miles in 50 days, whilst raising a staggering £2,130 for the children's mental health charity, Place2Be.

It was an emotional end to the final run as Johnnie ran down the school driveway, followed by PE teacher Mr Moretti and his classmates.  The driveway was flanked with flags and Johnnie crossed the finish line to a round of applause from his Mum, staff and school children pulling confetti streamers.

Mr Moretti gave an emotional speech saying:

"He started off and he thought it might be a struggle - but along the way his family, friends, classmates, and staff got involved in joining him.  It's been a tremendous achievement Johnnie and everyone is massively proud of you and I know one special lady who is prouder than us all, and that's your Mum.  Well done!"

From everyone at AKS, Johnnie, we'd like to say a huge well done - it's a fantastic achievement and a great example to others.
