The sun shone for the long awaited start of cricket fixtures

PUBLISHED 19 April 2021

The sun shone brightly as we all welcomed the start of school fixtures again on Saturday! In Cricket all our teams fought hard and represented the school with aplomb against an extremely strong Lancaster Royal Grammar School - traditionally one of the strongest in the North West.

Outplayed by some outstanding batting, we will take some valuable lessons from this match. Captain Ali bowled extremely well, take 1/15 from his 4 overs. Our team never gave up and played positively despite tough odds.

Great start to the season for the U15’s with a solid display with the bat and some accurate and consistent bowling to back it up. Max top-scored having been retired on 50, very well supported by Cameron and Noah. Special mention to Jeremy bowling his first-ever competitive over and getting a wicket. MOM: Max G

U14:

AKS 58ao def by LRGS 3/59

In their first game, the U14s had some real positives in their performance in the field, with key areas to develop in training. Star batsman of the day Leyton scoring 9 runs in his first game of cricket, with Toby star bowler, 3 overs, 1 maiden, 1 wicket, and 5 runs.

Lost with 9 balls to go. Great performance but sadly a few wides early on gave Lancaster the win. 26 retired from Will backed up by Tommy with 12 runs gave the boys a solid start. All lads got the opportunity to bat and those who wanted to all had the chance to bowl. MOM: Will W.
