Friday evening saw the popular AKS PTA wine tasting evening, held in our sixth form centre. The room was transformed with twinkling lights casting a warm glow, and the volunteer PTA team creating an inviting space for conversation and indulgence!
The evening was hosted by AKS parent, Mrs Alison Barnes-Jones, who kindly provided her expert wine knowledge, leading us through a journey of flavours and aromas. Alison worked in the wine industry for over 20 years including wine merchants, wine festivals, the BBC Good Food shows and wine PR. She is wine and spirits education trust trained.
A sparkling rose, fresh whites and indulgent reds were paired with mouthwatering nibbles served on beautiful sharing boards, expertly crafted by AKS parent, Mr Simon Turpie.
The final dessert wine, a delicious black muscat paired perfectly with chocolates and brownies, to bring the evening to a close.
A lovely, relaxed evening of sparkling conversation, delicious wine, nibbles and great company.
This is certainly becoming a firm favourite in the busy school calendar!
