Pupils voted for Macmillan to be this year's main Prep School Charity

This week our brave and principled School Council presented their own assembly for the Prep school. They worked in pairs and small groups to represent their favourite charity. Often these charities had huge personal resonance. Our School Councillors prepared all manner of presentations, flags, props and other visual aids to help secure the vote of our pupils from Reception to Year 6. The charities the School Councillors chose were all worthy causes; Brian House, Macmillan, Penny Farm, Save the Children (Ukraine), Care Homes and Love My Beach (Keep Britain Tidy). Once the presentations were complete, every child in the Prep placed their voting cube in a tray which represented their favourite charity. We are not sure how the children decided between the charities because the presentations and explanations were all very persuasive; we are very proud of the children’s enthusiasm!  

It was surprisingly close, but once all the cubes had been counted, Macmillan was chosen as our charity for the year.
