Scholars' Society: End of Year Quiz

Allan McKeown, Senior Deputy Head, was the compere for the fun (yet fiendishly challenging!) end of year Scholars’ Society quiz. Our Academic Scholars tackled the questions in mixed year groups, along with a member of staff. The diverse rounds brought some surprising insights, laughter and competitive spirit.

Team Awesome came out on top, with David Harrow, Headmaster, getting stuck in with the Year 7 to 13 students. However, they fell foul of the last bonus fifty point question (‘How many people have broken the four minute mile?’), as the closest estimate to the correct answer (1,712) was provided by Physics teacher, Keith Beakley’s team taking them to glory at the 11^th hour!

Well done to everyone for bringing their competitive spirit and camaraderie to the last of this year’s events. We look forward to seeing you back in the next school year for another full Scholars Programme.
