This week has been Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year's theme is Anxiety. Each day, Mrs Marland has supported staff by sending information out relating to a variety of topics including:
Anxiety
The Cost-of-Living Crisis
Supportive Relationships
Building Positive Thinking
The Importance of Rest and Recovery
Our lunchtime Lecture Series for students was led by Mr McKeown, Senior Deputy Head. He brought his biological knowledge to the fore in exploring the Science of Sleep in a highly relatable lecture, enjoyed by students in Years 7 to 12 and staff alike.
On a daily basis, our students have many different avenues here within school to support their mental health, including Form Tutors, Heads of Year, our dedicated Matron, and also our student-led group VENT, who offer a safe space to listen to students vent their concerns.
We are very proud with how the whole school community supports one another not just during Mental Health Awareness Week but each and every day. We are proud to hold The Wellbeing Award for Schools accreditation which is a national standard for positive mental health and emotional wellbeing, for all the work we have done and continue to do to make the wellbeing of ourselves and others a priority.
