Chinese New Year: Nursery and Prep School art and craft sessions

Our Chinese New Year art and crafts sessions led by our Prep School Art Co-ordinator, Mrs Hine, have been a great success. Our Pre-School families joined their children for one of three sessions run for children already at AKS and a fourth session was held for external families with children who are 2-3 years old.

The children enjoyed making Chinese drums, Chinese dragons made of cupcake cases, Spring blossom collages, dragon masks and also masks featuring rabbits, (the 2023 animal in the Chinese New Year calendar). 

The children also learnt about why the Chinese celebrate the New Year with a different animal each year and listened to Oriental music.
