It was an afternoon of success for our AKS Prep Indoor athletes as they took the gold medal position in the LSA U11 Sportshall Athletics Finals.
Competing against seven other local Primary schools, AKS had to be at their best, and with some excellent performances in both the track and field events, AKS showed great tenacity and resilience and overcame so many tough competitors from all schools.
There was a thrilling final relay race in which AKS Boys claimed 1st place, just when it seemed out of their grasp, ending the night in spectacular style after such a great afternoon.
Overall, both the boys and girls won their respective groupings with the boys claiming four 1st place finishes out of six in the field events, and the girls claiming four 1st place finishes out of six on the track.
The squad now moves forward onto the Wyre & Fylde Sportshall Athletics Finals on the 1st March, where they will come up against the winners and runners-up from other regions across the area. This will be another test of character for #TeamAKS but one that we are all looking forward to.
