Christmas Carol Service: A Prayer for Peace

PUBLISHED 15 December 2022

Last night our community came together for this year’s Carol Service, held at St Thomas’ Church.

Representatives from our Prep School, Senior School, Sixth Form, staff, alumni and friends of AKS gave biblical readings, dramatic performances and personal accounts – each bringing to life a different dimension of Christmas.

In particular, Inga Mursyukayeva’s powerful account of how the conflict in Ukraine had impacted families’ lives highlighted the criticality of the humanitarian aid work that the concert was supporting.

In addition to traditional carols sung by the congregation, the musical programme included soloists, duets and instrumental pieces in addition to the Senior Choir and Prep and Senior Chamber Choirs.

The evening ended with Chris Tomlin’s rousing Noel, with solos by Libby H and Alex W, before guests were welcomed into the adjoining parish church hall for refreshments.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the evening so special.
