A speech by Miss Martha Worthington
Hello and welcome to the AKS 2023 Musical Announcement. Last year's production of Oliver saw our return to Lowther after two years and this most definitely “started with a bang”. Oliver was an absolute sensation that frequently saw sold out shows with audience members being turned away, leaving the lucky ones with tickets stating, oh “If you'd have been there, if you'd have seen it”.
So, it's perfectly understandable that we are most keen to choose a show that will be just as splendiferous.
Now-a-days, when selecting a musical to perform we are faced so much choice. However, when we came together as a creative team, there were no artistic differences, and our choice was unanimous
Our Criteria List was simple;

We want a show that will Pop

We want to give our audience an act with lots of flash in it
-
Something where the reaction will be passionate
Soon our decision was made. We knew we had chosen the best musical for our school and our pupils. And that’s All I care about, that’s all we care about
But I must stress I can’t do it alone. As such I hope to see many pupils audition next week.
So, what's the one conclusion I can bring this speech to? Well, all that’s left to say, is that I am very excited to announce that our 2023 school musical is . . . CHICAGO!
