Easter usually sees the end of the hockey season for most players but that’s not the case for AKS’s talented Goalkeeper Anya J who has been selected as one of two GK’s in the England U16 squad that are heading out to Holland over Easter to play in a 5 Nations Tournament.

Having been selected in the wider squad earlier in the season Anya has continued to work hard both on and off the pitch, playing well for both AKS and Fylde 1st XI and she has now been honoured with selection for the first International Junior event for over two years of the Covid Pandemic .

The squad head out to Holland on April 14th where they will play four matches against Germany, Holland, Belgium and Ireland. Holland and Germany are considered as two of the best junior teams in the world and will provide Anya with her greatest challenge in her young playing career

Anya is excited about her first International Tournament away from home and will no doubt learn a great deal from the experience of playing against some of the strongest nations in junior hockey terms which will help her develop further and continue on her journey to fulfil her huge international potential.
