A phenomenal result for our U11 Hockey Girls in the Lancashire Cup on Wednesday, Winners for the fourth year! Well done to everyone who played.

AKS 7 (Lucy 2, Ruby 2 & Anna 3) v Rossall 1
Full match report below from Ruby:
Kirkham started, their defence was hard to break. They showed some great play. Anna broke with a banana run into the D and gave a lovely pass to myself, setting me up for our first goal. Kirkham came back hard and managed to keep it 1-0 at halftime.
Kirkham’s attack was very strong but with a great save from Niamh and some great defence by Esther, Georgia and Sophia, the score remained 1-0. It was nearly the end of the match but luckily there was a short corner. Esther injected the ball strongly, I hit the post, Lucy got the rebound and slapped it in.
The game finished AKS 2- Kirkham 0.
Our next game was against Rossall. Their defence were trying really hard but Camilla floated the ball to Lucy and she slotted it in the goal. Rossall’s attack were strong but they couldn’t break through our defence. Esther did a great shot from the top of the D and I finished it for her. Our attack was trying hard and Anna scored two great goals.
In the second half, Rossall came back but our defence kept going. Camilla passed the ball across the D and Lucy scored. Next, I scored following a great pass from Gracie. Rossall wouldn’t give up and they suckered a well-earned goal. We finished with one more goal from Anna.
