With the 1st XI in Cup action the AKS 2nd XI played their first competitive match of the season against LSA U16 on Wednesday 15th november.  It was a very exciting game with some great attacking play from Lytham which was matched by excellent defending from AKS.  LSA started strongly putting AKS under pressure from the whistle.  AKS did well to communicate and ensure that they made some early tackles in order to keep LSA out of their defensive circle and Charlotte C worked tirelessly at the back, making some crucial tackles against the forwards.  AKS were able to keep LSA to 0-0 throughout the whole of the first half with some breaks in play, where Eve Clarkson attacked at pace.  AKS came out determined after the half time break, with a clear plan in order to mark tightly and attack down their left.  Lucy T was instrumental in playing the ball wide for Evie F to drive down the right side of the pitch and put LSA under pressure.  AKS used the width of the pitch with much better effect and passed the ball out wide and down the line.  Daisy E was able to break through the defence and showed true commitment with her attacking skills but at the final whistle neither team could find the net. Sasha P was awarded Player of the Match as she made save after save keeping the final score to 0-0.

Saturday saw 4 teams host Merchant Taylor's and once again our talented teams proved too strong and came away with 3 winds and a draw. The U13A team continued their unbeaten start to the season with Olivia W netting a hat-trick to make the final score 3 – 0. Camilla W was voted player of the match for her driving runs with the ball but all the team contributed to a dominating performance in preparation for their upcoming Cup game against Rossall. The U13B teams were evenly matched and at half time the scores were level at 0 – 0. Both teams had chances to score in the second half but neither could find the net and the full time score remained at 0 – 0 with Annie L named as player of the match.

The U12 A team got back to winning ways with a great 6 – 0 win.  Sophia T topped the scoring with a hat-trick of goals and further goals from Sadie A Alyssa W and Evie G made it a comprehensive victory with Alysa W named as the player of the match.  The U12 B team made it a winning double coming out on top 2 – 1 thanks to goals from Elle J and Esme N with a great performance from Bella A earning her the player of the match award.
