AKS teams placed 1st and 2nd in AMSP Maths Feast 2023 PUBLISHED 24 March 2023 On Thursday 23rd March, eight of our best mathematicians in Year 10 competed in the annual AMSP Maths Feast, at Blackpool Sixth Form showcasing not just their mathematical skills, but also showcasing teamwork and problem-solving. The challenge was a closely fought battle - namely between our two teams. The two teams, consisting of Alfie K, Tommy, Angus, Harry, Eva, Kirtika, Alfie R, and Rhys, scored highly in all rounds and amazed Mrs. Fitzpatrick with their deductive work, ranking in the top 3 in each round. Their final scores were 74 and 76 out of 100; resulting in the groups achieving 1st and 2nd place in the competition. This result echoes closely with the teams that competed in the 2018 challenge, who went on to gain amazing results at GCSE and A-Level. Well done to all students involved, we look forward to seeing how you develop as mathematicians in the future! AUTHOR: Samantha Dobson PUBLISHED: 24 March 2023 CATEGORIES: News, Senior School
