What you Study
The majority of Sixth Form students take three A level subjects with the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) offered as an optional extra.
The timetable also includes Games, Private Study and our Sixth Form Enrichment Programme. The Sixth Form Enrichment programme includes external speakers, trips and experiences which develop foundations for life.
The teaching groups in the Sixth Form are kept as small as possible to allow more direct contact with staff. Through this approach, we enhance performance, learning and progression. Each student in the Sixth Form is placed into a tutor group, normally of around 10 students, where the tutor will normally teach one of the subjects that the students are studying.
The tutor will look after the academic and pastoral needs of the students and will be the first person a student can turn to when support is required. Although emphasis is placed on the student being responsible for his or her own learning, there is a monitoring and reporting system in place to ensure that pupils are working to the best of their abilities and maximising their potential.
