Nursery & Prep children celebrate World Book Day 2024

AKS Nursery & Prep School had an incredibly enriching and enjoyable World Book Day 2024 yesterday.

Children and staff were fully immersed in the day, dressed as their favourite book characters. The visit from author Ruth Eastham was certainly a highlight, offering both inspiration and insight into the world of writing. The creative writing workshops for Key Stage 2 students provided a fantastic opportunity for them to unleash their imaginations and develop their writing skills with free expression in a supportive environment.

Other activities throughout the day included designing bookmarks, completing a book quiz, and participating in a book swap to encourage a deeper engagement with literature. Partnering with another class for story sharing and having reading buddies allowed students to collaborate, discuss storylines, and using their expression when reading aloud.

Lots of book fun was had by all and we certainly celebrated a love of reading and writing, which we hope helps to cultivate a lifelong appreciation for literature.
