AKS welcomes Lauren Lucien as our new Educational Skills Co-ordinator PUBLISHED 10 September 2024 Lauren grew up in London, though she has a penchant for American poetry and short stories, which she developed a love for whilst working at The Barbican Library. Lauren published poetry and authored her first two books in university, with Palgrave Macmillan. An achievement that garnered her a ‘Top 100 Future Leaders’ award with Future Leaders, an annual publication that recognises the UK’s most outstanding African and African Caribbean students and new graduates. After graduating, she enjoyed working as an education consultant for several years. With a passion for curriculum development and youth work, she completed her postgraduate psychology qualification and later joined these two skillsets together, going on to train and work as an English teacher in the North-West and London. Lauren is a dedicated educator with a passion for literacy and academic achievement, who loves weaving and expressing a story. She is driven by best practice and outcomes for students she works with. Outside of work, Lauren is a keen collector and seller of mid-century modern antiques. AUTHOR: Samantha Dobson PUBLISHED: 10 September 2024 CATEGORIES: News, Senior School
